- Meals - It is best to bring your lunch each day as lunch break doesn't allow you time to leave campus. CCSD will be offering a lunch package this year and you will sign up for that during your online registration. The cost will be $120 for two weeks and $60 for one week.
- Parking - Parking will be available on the campus of Kell High School. Participants should plan to park in the large lot close to the football field. Kell High School has three parking entrances. Participants will use the 2nd entrance on the left and stay to the left to enter the parking lot. Please do not park in the lots to the right as they should be left open for school personnel and visitors.
- What to Bring - You should plan to wear comfortable clothing for movement, comfortable shoes, and have a sweater on hand in case the air-conditioning gets too cool. Also, nursery rhymes and children’s poetry books. All course materials will be available on the first day of the course. Please purchase the recommended materials if you would like.
- Course Daily Schedule for Levels I, II, and III - 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM except for Friday, June 7th. We will go until 4:30 on the 7th as we will have Dave Holland for Special Topics.
- Course Daily Schedule for Introduction to Orff Schulwerk - 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM
- Course Daily Schedule for Mater Class - 8:00 AM - 3:15 PM
- Course Requirements - 100% attendance; Participation in all activities; Successful completion of all written assignments.
- What to expect - If you’ve never been to an Orff class, you are in for a wonderful surprise! We will spend as much time experiencing activities, games, songs, traditional dances, creative movement, and playing child-centered instruments as we will be sitting in a chair. We will work individually, in small groups, and all together with the other participants standing, and on the floor, so wear comfortable clothes in layers to pull off and put on when necessary. We will laugh, be able to artistically express ourselves, and take deep dives into serious aspects of music education. There will be homework every evening including readings, journaling, and compositions that should take about an hour of concentrated time. We hope you will leave this course with friends who can support you and help you in your music teaching journey throughout the year.
